These synthetic rubies exhibit strong fluorescence under both long and short wave UV. There seems to be a common misconception that only genuine rubies fluoresce. This is most certainly not accurate. The amount a synthetic ruby fluoresces greatly depends on its method of production: Verneuil, Flux Growth, Pulling, etc.
